Compared with random packing, ceramic structured packing has a series of characteristics, such as high efficiency, low pressure, large processing capacity, small liquid holdup, low amplification effect and high operating elasticity. It is especially suitable for the separation process of high temperature corrosive materials, such as rectification and absorption, which have strict requirements on pressure drop and theoretical plate number.
Ceramic random packings are cheaper due to mature raw materials and production processes, and have stable performance and good surface wettability. In the actual industrial application, it has strong acid resistance, alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, not easy to penetrate and will not chemically react with the material and low water absorption. It can resist the corrosion of various organic acids and bases except fluoroxic acid and silicofluoric acid, and can resist the corrosion of almost all concentrations of inorganic acids and salts as well as organic media.
