Metal Perforated Plate Corrugated Structured Packingconsists of several corrugated metal plates arranged in parallel and perpendicular to each other. Each corrugated plate has small holes, with the corrugation forming an angle of approximately 90 degrees. The channels created by the corrugations are at a 45-degree or 30-degree angle to the vertical direction. Adjacent corrugated plates create channels at a 90-degree angle to each other.
In towers with smaller diameters that use flanges for connections, the corrugated packing is made into complete discs, with a diameter slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the tower. In larger diameter towers, each disc of corrugated packing is divided into several sections, which are inserted into the tower through manholes and then assembled into complete discs inside the tower. The corrugated plates of adjacent discs are installed with a 90-degree rotation to ensure thorough mixing of the fluids within the tower.
