Pall Rings vs Raschig Rings

1. Shape difference: The main difference between raschig ring packing and raschig ring packing is that there is a rectangular window on the side wall, and the blade of the window is bent toward the center of the ring. Due to the opening of the ring wall, the distribution performance of gas and liquid is greatly improved than that of the raschig ring, especially the inner surface area of the ring can be fully utilized.

2. Performance difference: Compared with the Lacey ring, this packing has the characteristics of large production capacity, large resistance, and large operational flexibility. Under normal circumstances, the pressure drop under the same pressure drop is 50%-100% larger than the Lacey ring, and the same treatment is 50%-70% smaller than the Lacey ring, and the tower height also has a pressure drop. The bulk volume of Lacey ring can be about 20%-40% higher by using spherical chain.

Ceramic Pall ring has the characteristics of acid and heat resistance, high and low temperature resistance, anti-aging, and can resist the corrosion of various inorganic acids, organic acids and organic solvents except hydrofluoric acid (HF), and can be used in various high and low temperature occasions.

Plastic Pall ring is suitable for industrial tower packing, with the advantages of large flux, low resistance, high separation efficiency and high operational flexibility.

Metal Pall ring is suitable for various separation, absorption and desorption devices, atmospheric and vacuum devices, synthetic ammonia decarbonization desulfurization system, ethylbenzene separation, isooctane/toluene separation, etc.
