The density distinction of structured packing is mainly based on its material type, and the density range of different materials is quite different:

Plastic structured packings (such as RPP material) : The bulk density should be converted according to the density of the base material (such as polypropylene), and the density calculation should be combined with the physical characteristics of the material itself.

Metal structured packing: The density range is wide, need to refer to the density data of specific metal materials (such as stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.), usually higher than ceramic and plastic packing.

In addition, the density of the packing can be obtained by experimental measurement (such as drainage method) or by referring to the technical parameters provided by the supplier. To accurately calculate the cubic weight, it is also necessary to combine the geometric dimensions of the packing and the practical application scenario13.
