The working principle of the structured packing tower is mainly based on the full contact of the gas-liquid two phases on the surface of the packing and efficient mass transfer, and its core characteristics are as follows:

Gas liquid countercurrent contact

The gas flows upward from the bottom of the tower, and the liquid is sprayed downward from the top of the tower, and the two phases are in countercurrent contact. This flow mode can make full use of concentration and temperature differences to significantly improve mass transfer efficiency.


Special structure of structured packing

The packing adopts corrugated plate, honeycomb and other regular arrangement structure, with high specific surface area and uniform porosity. For example, corrugated plate packing optimizes liquid distribution by corrugating Angle (e.g. 30° or 45°) to reduce wall flow phenomena; Honeycomb packing enhances gas-liquid disturbance through regular channels. Continuous contact and efficient mass transfer

The packing tower belongs to continuous contact equipment, the gas phase is continuous phase, and the liquid phase is dispersed phase. The composition of the two phases changes continuously along the height of the tower, and mass transfer is realized through the friction between the liquid film on the surface of the packing and the air flow.
